Basketball Spin Move. What is a spin-move in basketball dribbling? This basketball dribbling move is also called the spinnin'-o-rama. Spin-move is a basketball dribbling move in which you rotate your body around your opponent while applying weight on your opponent. By the looks of it, it seems to be a move of rotating your body 360 degrees.

I've recently seen a lot of arguments about whether certain plays are travels or not, so hopefully this will help clear up some of the controversy.
Clearly legal plays:
Andre Iguodala's layup and a supplemental screenshot.
D-Wade's layup
Kyrie's layup

Borderline travels/really tough to call:
Harden

EVIDENCE OF WHY '3 STEPS' ARE LEGAL:
Quote from NBA Rulebook. You're allowed 2 steps upon completion of a dribble, so if you dribble while pushing off of one foot it is not counted toward one of your 2 allowed steps.

Conclusion:
This occurrence is more commonly referred to as taking 'two-and-a-half steps', where the half step is the 'gather step'. This half step is what makes the majority of euro-steps look so effortless and sexy.
As for whether this is considered legal in NCAA/International basketball, I have no idea. But it is NOT considered a travel in the NBA.
